The Sleep Diary app functions as a research and clinical tool for sleep-related data collection. Designed by Dr. Anne Richards at the San Francisco VA Medical Center, it gathers information on users' sleep symptoms and behaviors exclusively for participants enrolled in specific research studies.

 <li>Login ID and Password: Before utilizing any feature, users are required to log in using a designated Login ID and Password. This mechanism ensures that data collection pertains solely to participants enrolled in authorized research studies. Eligibility is determined by research personnel, with only eligible individuals granted access.</li>
 
 <li>App Version: Users are assigned a version of the app relevant to their study participation. For instance, study subjects and their enrolled bed partners will utilize distinct versions of the app.</li>
 
 <li>Morning/Afternoon/Evening/Night Assessment: Daily assessments are completed on the app's home screen to document sleep-related symptoms and behaviors.</li>
 
 <li>Calendar: The Calendar feature allows users to access incomplete assessments from prior days, facilitating the completion of missed or unfinished assessments.</li>
 
 <li>Summary: When enabled, the Summary section exhibits a visual representation of the data gathered from the user's daily responses. Users can zoom in on the graph to view responses from individual dates.</li>
 
 <li>Reminder Settings: Users can configure alarms for each assessment via the Reminder Settings section to prompt daily completion. Push notifications are employed to remind users to complete assessments at the designated times.</li>
 
 <li>Data Collection: All responses to daily assessments are recorded by the app, excluding personally identifiable information like names or birthdates. Access to collected data is reserved exclusively for research personnel.</li>
